Somali Youth United understands somali woman are one of the most powerful part of the somali community. The women outreach program seeks to reach out to somali women, to educate them on their health. The goal of this outreach is to be the voice of the somali women in the San Diego community. Somali Youth United is honored to host the East African Mothers Appreciation seminar for the past 4 years. Please Join us for the 5th East African Mothers Appreciation Seminar on April 2009. Current SYU project for Somali women in San Diego, is the Reproductive Health campaign. This program address many aspects of women reproductive issues. The goal of the project is to empower women of the east african community about self diagnosis, routine check ups for breast cancer and the benefits of being aware of normal female health concepts. Also women rights will be discussed as it relates the health field, doctor and patient relations and preparing new mothers for birth nutritional health.
Somali Youth United is a small nonprofit organization, that wills to change the San Diego community for the better. We are completely made of volunteers, SYU seeks your involvement and volunteer hours to continue to provide assistance to the San Diego Community.
