Somali Youth United President / Founder

Abdisalam Farah, born and raised in somali, can attest from first hand experiences the beauty and power of being surrounded with somali youth eager to make something of themselves. Abdisalam had the pleasure of going to school in somali before the civil war erupted. In somali, education was not a choice, but a necessity, it was not a luxury but the only way to make something happen for your family.
In the United States, somali children take for granted the wonderful opportunities presented of a free education system. Abdisalam recalls having to walk for miles to school in somali, being the second eldest boy in the family, failure was not an option.
Somali Youth United is non profit organization, that seeks to make invaluable contribution to the somali youth community members lives, through various activities. SYU seeks to unite the somali community beyond tribal envy, and set an examples for our brothers and sisters in the United States and aboard.
Abdisalam Farah does not receive any income or salary, Somali Youth United is non profit organization that provides guidance for the youth of the community, uplifts the spirits of the somali community members, and seek to change their lives for the better; by being the ear and eyes of the san diego community. Through donations, and a lot of volunteer hours from the community, Somali Youth United is nearing its 8th anniversary.
